SAC College Day

Impressive and Unique : SAC Day
SAC. 25 February. It was a wonderful evening at St Aloysius. 126th College Day.
The evening began with a prayer song. It was followed by some cultural items of coastal Karnataka, and a massive group dance, a melee of multiple songs.

This year, Principal’s Report was something different. His introduction was followed by a well prepared movie (report of all the vedio and photo files recorded by the the Dept. of Journalism during the entire year, plus a few other photos taken by others). The two thousand odd audience was rocked by the report – they saw themselves virtually live! Nothing like this ever happened in this historic campus in the last 125 years; (even when the Journalism Dept suggested last year and offered to do!). The report was movie-annual was projected on two giant screens before the audience. Whoever thought they would get an audio-visual treat?

After honouring some select students (in the hands of Mrs. Vasanti Shetty), the Chief Guest of the day, Dr Shantaram Shetty, addressed the gathering. So did Fr Francis Serrao SJ, (Rector). And the second part of the entertainment treat followed: ARPANE a play on St Aloysius Gonzaga, written and directed by Dr N D Shetty.

Tomorrow’s Headlines
SAC. 25 Feb. “Tomorrow’s Headlines” – if that sounds like much media stuff, you are not far from truth. That was a media play directed by Ms Gizelle Mehta. Naturally then, the play involved many a Journalism student from SAC. Though the programme started much behind the scheduled time, it was a creditable performance from our budding media persons and media actors!
