It’s rainy days, once again! Or, so it feels! Even before the Met. department’s predicted monsoon could arrive!

Mangalore has seen heavy downpours in the last three days. For example, in the last week it rained a little, and then, on Thursday night it was quite a lot. So did it rain well (8.1 cm)! It rained the entire night lasting till this morning. A whopping 21.6 cm of rain in the 24 hours between Saturday 7.30 am and Sunday 7.30 am in the SAC campus. It continues to rain. In certain places close to the city, there is news of floods!

In contrast, it did not rain in Bangalore, at all. Though it rained well last week, yesterday (Saturday, when I was in Bangalore) there were no signs of rains. Of course, weather in Bangalore is really good!

PUC Results and After

PUC results have been announced after all the harakiri.
Many students have committed suicide after they got some undeserved, unexpected rude shocks. Reports are still pouring in about the drastic measures students are resorting to because of the unexpected results.

One of the worst i heard is this: a girl student who wrote the exam is marked ‘absent’ in her marks card. She is marked ‘840′ marks out of a maximum of 100 in the results shown by the Internet site! And she fails. Now, which is correct?

If and when such inconsistencies are set right, time would have flown by! It would not be before a 3-4 weeks before “corrected” results come. By then admissions to most colleges are over. In addition, students have to pay through their nose for the irresponsibility of the not-so-honourable actions of the honourable minister and disgraceful competence of the education department. It is not students’ fault; niether is it their parents’. But who has to spend money, fill whose coffers!

The irresponsible/ “adhika prasangi” minister and incompetent authorities need to dragged to court and punished severely.

All this mess because of the interference by the Honourable Minister for Education and incompetence of Education Department.
