31 July. “Ignatius of Loyola was a pragmatic idealist who was loyal to society, to Church and to Christ”, said the main celebrant of the Holy Mass Rev. Fr. Jerome D’ Souza SJ on the occasion of the feast of St Ignatius of Loyola.
Ms. Anita the master of ceremony gave a detailed introduction to the life of Founder of the Society of Jesus, whose feast is celebrated the world over today.
To Shine and Burn for the Greater Glory of God was the main theme of the mass.
Fr. Jerome D’Souza, along with nine other priests celebrated the mass, assisted by four altar boys.
He said that Ignatius was a saint because of the ardent faith he had in God. Rev. Fr. Francis Serrao the Rector of the St Aloysius Institutions, wished a very happy feast to the entire congregation gathered for the mass. Rev.
Fr. Denzil Lobo proposed the vote of thanks. He also stressed that the Catholic students should be more motivated.
After Holy Mass, the winners of the St Ignatius quiz competition were declared, and Fr Rector gave away the prizes to the winners.
