Research Methodology at AIMIT, Beeri

16 July. For the last one week Aloysian Institute of Management & Information Technology has been a hot place. Amidst all the heavy rain! That’s because of the rigorous intellectual work and training going on there! Morning 9.00 to evening 5.30. And why not?

Mr Vishal Nayak and Yours Truly decided to register for the research training methods workshop. They were the two of those 4o attending the workshop.

Resource persons came from Mangalore (internal faculty included)  and Bangalore. Some of the finest teachers, I have met, to teach research methods. For 7 days, I was a student in the class with others! Enjoying the good teaching.  It’s fun addressing teachers younger than you “M’am” and “Sir” and ask for clarifications, raise doubts and express your own views! Afterall, learning has no limits – at any age, at any stage! Enjoyed.

I must say,  it was one of the most useful workshops I have attended. Very well organised, keeping the needs of the teaching faculties in Management and Social Science faculties across India.

Our Mass Communication (MCMS) Department is so much luckier because two of the faculties could learn much for the sake of their students! It was fun!

Seminar & PG Day

18 Jan 2011. It’s getting more and more hectic! It’s time of the year when you see almost everybody on his/ her toes! Just now, at Under Graduate level, there are internal (mid-semester) examinations are going on, which will end on Thursday (20/1/11).

On the 21-22 Jan, Post Graduate Dept of Mass Communication & Media Studies (MCMS) is holding a two-day National Level Seminar in the College. It’s Media Manthan 24×7. The seminar intends to explore various areas of media and influences and representations.

Our panelists include Justice Santosh Hegde (Lokayukta), Mr Adam Clapham (formerly BBC, now Griffin Production House), Vijay Grover (NewsX TV channel), Mr Krishna Byre Gowda (MLA and Youth Congress President), Mr Rajiv Chandrasekhar (MP, former President -FICCI,  and Media Magnate of Karnataka), Mr Aniisu Verghese (Sapient, Bangalore), Siddhart N (Alternative Media Forum), Dr Nandini (Academician), Deepak Menon (Arghyam, Seemant Kumar Singh (Police Commissioner, Mangalore), P.V. Mohan (Member, AICC), and a few more!

Don’t miss it. Register yourself with Mr Vishal Nayak or Mr Harsharaj Gatty.

You could also find information on That’s our student-blog.

There is also a day of enjoyment for the post graduate students: It’s PG Day! January 20th is celebrated as Post Graduate day, when all the PG students of Post Graduation at SAC main campus come together to celebrate their being a part of SAC!
