Bidding Farewell to Ms Roveena

FAREWELL TO MS. ROVEENA D’SOUZA

 

“She has given her best,” said Prof. Eric Patrao, the Vice-Principal of St. Aloysius College during the felicitation of Ms. Roveena D’Souza, the lecturer of BBM, on Thursday,  Prof. Patrao was felicitating Ms D’Souza at her farewell function organized by Staff Association.

 

Ms D’Souza will be leaving the College, courtesy her wedding which will be held soon.

 

After Rev. Fr. Dr. Eugene Lobo, the Principal wished her well,  Ms.Roveena D’Souza expressed her special gratitude towards the principal and the staff members. Arron in Mumbai

13 Dec. Arron Menezes is in Mumbai – experiencing the cool breeze of the sea; thanks to the NCC Navy wing.

Well, the boy is phenomenal. Quietly, in his own way he has made a mark on many. His absence from the department of Journalism brought to light how much his friends and companions miss him! So many of his classmates, juniors and friends (even seniors!) inquiring after him!

For those who miss him – he keeps calling me; keeps informed about what is happening on the Ship; how he is enjoying, how he is missing all his pals here, and when he is likely to come (i.e., 20 or 21 December!)

Probably, that is where an ordinary student’s contribution to the department and to his companions lies – what one means to many of his friends, acquaintenances… Come back soon Arron, waiting for you…

SAC to Screen Tulu Film “Suddha”

Worry and anxiety seems to have gripped Suddha-householdAl-Madhyam will screen the first digital Tulu film Suddha directed by P N Ramachandra on 18 Dec 2006 in the Xavier Auditorium at 4 p.m. The film is open to the public. The purpose of such a screening is to support good cinema and makers of quality films.

Mr P N Ramachandra, who made this award winning Tulu film has also directed some episodes of the teleserial Surabhi, telecast on Doordarshan. The director has been commissioned by the UNESCO to make a film on pre-marital-testing of HIV cases, which he has already finished shooting. Mr Ramchandra was the resource person for the recently concluded National Level Documentary Filmmaking workshop organized by the Department of Journalism, St Aloysius College.

For passes please contact Lawrence Fernandes at 9945996910 after 4 30 p.m. up to 17 Dec. They are available at Rs 15 each and will be issued at 3 30 p.m. at the venue on 18 December. Spot entrances are welcome.

Asha Kiran Basket Ball Court Inaugurated

Asha Kiran Sylveliz Kripa Basket Ball Court Inauguration: 13 Dec 2006.  

The Asha Kiran Basket Ball court was blessed and inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Francis Menezes SJ, the PCF of the Karnataka Jesuit Province. Fr. Santosh the executive director of Asha Kiran Building and Basket Ball court could not be present due to his busy ministry schedule in the season of Advent. Sch Amus (JAM) the games master of Asha Kiran welcomed the gathering and explained the need of physical exercises in our life. Br. Joseph Alvares released the pigeion symbolizing the peace and harmony in the basket ball game and among the players.

Now the Asha Kiran (house for College going Jesuit brothers) at Pumpwell has a new Basket Ball court. Jesuits also give importance for relaxation and overall growth of their Youngsters.
