Mr. GS Virupaksha

G.S Virupaksha joined as a St Aloysius school librarian in 1973. He was a guidance of books for all young children and always helped children in correcting their leave notes. Many of them liked him. He had a passion for books.

Mr Richard Miranda

Richard Miranda joined as an office assistant, St Aloysius College in 1976. He was very strict in keeping the records up to date. He helped whenever he was called for.

National Research Workshop came to an end

“Know the need and meet the challenge, make research socially relevant and economically feasible that the ideas will sell” said Fr Henry Mascarenhas.

The three day National workshop on Research Methodology organized by edge (Employee Dialogue for Growth and Entrepreneurship) came to an end with a formal valedictory function. Fr Henry Mascarenhas was the chief guest for the function.

109 digital works of many students in 39 languages were released in the form of CDs at 7:30p.m at the college Teletorium. Kannada Professor of the college Kannada Department,Dr Mahalinga Bhat took the in charge of collecting students works and gave it a new look to these creative works.
This programme was organized by the evening college. Principal of St Aloysius evening college, Rev Fr Vincent Pinto; Kannada Professor at Mangalore University, Sathya Narayana and a Designer in Asissi press, Manoj Machado who designed the works of students were the guests for the function.

One can notice three nests at the college campus built in a single tree near the college main entrance gate. We can see two crows visiting the nest. Most of them gaze at its beauty which indicates that there is unity even with birds and animals in the college. It adds glory to the campus. Lets welcome them.

 “Research is to find out why and how. It is the ability of enquiry and keenness to find out things”, said the chief guest, Prof Aloysius Sequeira.
For the first time National workshop on research methodology was organized by the edge (employee dialogue for growth and enterpreneyrship) by the Faculty Association of Computer Applications and Bioinformatics at the college IT block. The director of NITK Prof. Aloysius sequeira; principal, Fr. Swebert D Silva; Director of AICS and AIBA Fr. Denzil Lobo and coordinators Ms.Ashma Monteiro and Mrs. Laveena DCost were the chief guest for the inaugural function. Ms.Ashma Monteiro introduced the chief guest.
Principal encouraged youngsters by telling that they can make the country developed not developing.
The topics presented during the workshop were Research design by Prof Subramanya Y, sampling techniques by Ms Ashma Monteiro and How to get into analysis by Prof. Sucharitha Suresh.

The valedictory of Christian Life Community (CLC) was conducted at the college Teletorium. Director of St Aloysius boys hostel, Fr Rudolph Norahana addressed the gathering with a short story of an innocent child. His speech was followed by staff coordinator and president of CLC Prof. Lawrence Pinto. They screened the annual report of the activities conducted by the association during 2008-09. The secretary of the association was replaced to Cyrill.
